Welcome to Ebonyi State Scholarship Board
Thank you for visiting the official website of Ebonyi State Scholarship Board (ESSB). The board was established in 1998 by the Governemnt of Ebonyi State, to help create a solid educational foundation for her citizenry. Since its inception ESSB has directly assist intelligent as well as less privileged students to have qualitative education.
Our purpose is to help train and equip future leaders of our State and country. Our never ending belief in what we do, coupled with embedded professionalism, has led us to be recognized as one of the highest quality and effective scholarship boards in Nigeria. We are passionate about the developement of human capital, as a strategy to eradicate poverty and improve the wellbeing of Ebonyians. We are passionate about what we do and our objectives are encapsulated in our vision and mission statements as follows:
Our Vision
Our vsison is to develop the human resource needs of Ebonyi State through the Education of her citizenry in different fields of human endeavours in accordance with the State Scholarship Scheme approved by the State Government.
Our Mission
Our Mission is in four folds as follows:
- To ensure that indigent but brilliant students are selected for awards of State Scholarships annually.
- To ensure that our students/awardees do not suffer deprivation of academic activities as a result of non-prompt payment of tuition fees and living expenses.
- To ensure that the Board operates within the frame work of the rule of laws in its relationships with both local and international academic institutions.
- To collaborate with the institutions where the State Scholarship Students are studying in order to ensure that our students follow the academic programmes as expected.
